The MET
I walked through the byzantine section of the MET and found a small room with short doors. I opened the doors to find this small decorated room. I was alone and shut the doors behind me. There was a bench in the middle where i sat and looked around. All the walls were covered top to bottom in red wallpaper which then later covered in hand drawn designs. I learned that the room was designed for prayer and all the all the designs were there to remind everyone what to pray for. I loved being in the room alone it was a whole new way to experience the MET and being completely alone allowed me to not be rushed and really take in the details of the room. The room took me back to the byzantine era and i felt like i was really there.
